  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine the idli dosa batter, maida, rice flour, onion, green chili, ginger, cumin seeds, and salt. Mix well.
  2. Heat oil in a kadhai or pan over medium heat.
  3. Wet your hands with water and take a small portion of the batter. Shape it into a ball and then flatten it slightly.
  4. Gently slide the punugulu into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy on all sides.
  5. Remove the punugulu from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  6. Serve hot with chutney or sambar.

Tips:

  • For a crispier punugulu, add a tablespoon of rice flour to the batter.
  • If the batter is too thick, add a little water to thin it out.
  • Be careful not to overcrowd the pan when frying the punugulu.
  • Fry the punugulu over medium heat so that they cook evenly.
  • Serve the punugulu hot with chutney or sambar.

Variations:

  • You can add other vegetables to the batter, such as carrots, peas, or bell peppers.
  • You can also add spices to the batter, such as garam masala, turmeric powder, or red chili powder.
  • For a sweeter punugulu, add a tablespoon of sugar to the batter.
