  • 1/4 teaspoon finely chopped green chili
  • 1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tablespoon grated coconut (optional)
  • 1/4 cup curd
  • Water, as needed
  • Oil, for deep frying

  1. In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, rice flour, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
  2. Add the ginger, green chili, coriander leaves, and coconut (if using).
  3. Mix well, then add the curd and enough water to form a thick batter.
  4. Cover the bowl and let the batter rest for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Heat oil in a deep fryer or kadhai over medium heat.
  6. Once the oil is hot, drop the batter by spoonfuls into the oil.
  7. Fry the Goli Baji until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove the Goli Baji from the oil and drain on paper towels.
