Ingredients:

  • 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
  • Salt to taste

  • ½ to ¾ teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon garam masala
  • 3 tablespoons water to cook masala
  • 1 teaspoon kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves), optional
  • 3 tablespoons coriander leaves, chopped

Instructions:

  1. Heat the oil or butter in a large pan over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and cook until they begin to sizzle.
  2. Add the chopped onion and green chili and cook until the onion is golden brown.
  3. Add the ginger garlic paste and cook until the raw smell goes away.
  4. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they are soft and mushy.
  5. Add salt, pav bhaji masala, chili powder, and garam masala and cook until the masala leaves the sides of the pan.
  6. Add 3 tablespoons of water and cook further until the water evaporates.
  7. Add the kasuri methi (if using) and cook for 2 minutes.
  8. Add the bread cubes and mix gently.
  9. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the bread cubes are heated through.
  10. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.

  • Use fresh, ripe tomatoes for the best flavor.
  • If you don't have pav bhaji masala, you can substitute garam masala.
  • Add more or less chili powder to taste.
